Hyalite Touchoffrost (date of birth)

Hyalite a touch of frost Visiting Rama's breeder in Montana with Karen Darnbrough of Mountainpark Bengals, Pam Knowles naturally took us on a cattery tour of the region. Before visiting Don Palmer's cattery she told us that he bred whited tummies, at which we expected to see the general whited tummy cats: bright orange with few visible spots and indeed whited tummies. What we really saw at Don's just dumbfounded us, not only Karen and me, but also Pam and her friend Stacy, who are used to seeing quite a lot of spectacular foundations and cutting edge Bengals: these kittens did not only have whited tummies, but also black spots on yellow backgrounds and very wild heads and bodies.

Knowing that Don probably would not sell the black spotted kittens, my eye fell on a small brown spotted boy that looked extremely wild, and who had a more flowing pattern than the more spectacular black spotted kittens. I fell for him right there, and his image stuck to me for a long time after. Back home I mailed Don if he would sell him, and the long and short of it is, that he did come to Holland. Because of his whited underside I wanted a name with some ice to it, and Karen came up with Touchof Frost, our favourite british detective series.

Frost first went to live with Annette Trolle, his co-owner, and he sired some spectacular wild looking kittens there. Then he came to us and we have our share of beautiful bright yellow kittens with black spots. And we have some nice litters to come!
